DANDRIDGE COMMUNITY TRUST

The Dandridge Community Trust, Corporation (DCT) manages
Dandridge's Main Street Program. The DCT was founded in 2005, as an
IRS Section 501(c)(3) Non-profit organization, to apply for
certification of the Town of Dandridge, and its
National
Register Historic District, as a Main Street Community.
This program is governed and promoted by the
National
Preservation Trust in Washington D.C. and
Tennessee Main Street, a department
of the
Tennessee Economic & Community Development division under
Commissioner Matthew Kisber in Nashville.
The Main Street status is certified by the
Tennessee
Department of Economic Development and the
National Trust for Historic Preservation.

The
Dandridge Community Trust is operated locally and is a volunteer
organization whose mission is to encourage and preserve a sound
economic base that meets the needs of both citizens and business and
builds long-term economic success for the Dandridge community.
This includes:
v Preserving and leveraging the historic
architectural and cultural
heritage of the town center;
v Maintaining the quality of community life;
v Building strong alliances and a high level of cooperation
among all
groups with a stake in the future of the community,
including
residents; the business community;
property owners; town,
county, regional and state
government; civic and church groups
and schools.
