HISTORY
Founded In July 2010, Dandridge Community Trust
was approved for a Green Innovation Grant through the Tennessee ECD.
A portion of this grant designated for the purpose of creating a
Streetscape for the Downtown District. DCT partnered with the
East Tennessee Community Design Center (ETCDC) to implement this
project.
An
important part of this project was the inclusion of residents ideas
and input to "the look" of Dandridge. DCT organized and ETCDC
hosted a Public Input Meeting on January 25, 2011. This
meeting residents were invited to attend and give input through open
discussion and an onsite slide survey. ETCDC took the Input
Meeting results back and began work on an overall Streetscape for
Meeting , Gay, and Main Streets.
Streetscape Follow-Up Meeting:
Public Presentation of Input Results
Main Street hosted a follow-up meeting on Thursday, May 19th to
present the Streetscape Design results based on the public input
meeting hosted in January. Members on the community came out
to be the first to view the exciting new Streetscape, designed by
East Tennessee Community Design Center (ETCDC), for the historic
district of downtown Dandridge.
ETCDC will be providing planning Phase recommendations and cost
estimates in the near future. Main Street plans to work in
cooperation with the Town of Dandridge and Jefferson County to
pursue public funding to begin implementation of the Streetscape
Project.
Please review the designs and images presented at the meeting below.

Since then, DCT was worked with the Town of
Dandridge and Jefferson County to gather information on what portion
of the project should be the starting point, available grants to
obtain financial support, and approval of the design concept.
DCT has received approval of the concept and ETCDC
presented the Streetscape design to the Dandridge BMA on their March
6, 2012 Work Session.
NEXT STEPS
DCT his working with ETCDC to formulate a Request
for Proposal (RFP) to seek the appropriate architect, engineer, and
landscape architect to hire for implementing the first phase of the
Streetscape Project. This will begin the long term process of
taking concept to reality in downtown Dandridge. The architect team,
along with matching grant dollars, now places DCT with the need to
raise funds to take this concept to reality.
STREETSCAPE SUPPER
Thanks to all that came out to support the Dandridge Streetscape
Project at our fundraising Supper in April. Over 100 people
came out to enjoy the food, entertainment, and learn more about the
downtown Streetscape Project.

Thanks to your support, we exceeded our goal. We are now
working with East Tennessee Community Design Center to start the RFP
process for interviewing and hiring an architect/engineer firm for
this Project.
SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR STREETSCAPE SUPPER
SPONSORS!!
