* The elegant two-story building known as the Shepard's Inn was built by Shadrach Inman, beginning in 1823, when he bought the two-story log cabin he was living in at that time.  Using this cabin, built approximately 1814, as a foundation, Inman built a beautiful 6000 sq.ft. home around the original structure.  The original logs can still be seen in the house today.  Utilized as an Inn since the 1880s, it has been known around the world as the "Shepard's Inn" since 1921.  Closed to the public for decades, this incredible house can now be seen by our reception visitors.
