June 2008 June 6 - June Jubilee Quilt Show Entry Deadline June 12 - June Jubilee Quilt Entry Drop-off Deadline June 14 - June Jubilee Street Festival 9 am - 6 pm The eighth annual June Jubilee will be held in Dandridge, Tennessee, on June 14, 2008. The festival is held on the streets of one of Tennessee’s oldest towns, the only town named for our nations first, first lady, Martha Dandridge Custis Washington. June Jubilee is in celebration of her birthday. The street festival will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will end at 6:00 p.m. The entertainment will continue all day and will feature cheerleading, dance, and karate exhibitions, along with clogging, area entertainers, and bands. Due to popular demand, the antique tractor show will return and be extended into an all-day show. There will also be a car show as well as a quilt show. Bands include Lost Creek Band, Southern Spirit Band, and Wild Blue Yonder. There are many fine restaurants, lodging facilities, campground facilities, and retail shops located in Dandridge. 27 - Saturday - Dandridge Scots-Irish Music Festival & Piping Competition The 2nd Annual Dandridge Scots-Irish Festival & Individual Bagpiping Competition will be held in Dandridge, Tennessee on Sept. 27, 2008. The festival is held on Main Street of Tennessee's second oldest town, the only town named for our nations first, First Lady, Martha Dandridge Custis Washington. The Dandridge Scots-Irish Music Festival is a celebration in honor of the founding citizens of Dandridge in 1783, the Scots-Irish immigrants who fought the Battle of Kings Mountain in 1780, thereby helping bring an end to the Revolutionary War. Scottish and Irish vendors, Scottish Clan Societies, and Celtic entertainers will provide plenty of fun for all interests. . There are many fine restaurants, lodging facilities, campground facilities, and retail shops located in and near Dandridge.
